Start here: which flag are you actually buying?
Before anything else, one question decides most of it:
Do you want the high winds flag, or the regular nylon?
That is the question we ask every customer who calls. It matters more than brand, more than price, and it is the thing most people have never been asked before they buy.
Regular nylon is the normal American flag. Light, bright, flies in a gentle breeze. It is what most homes want and it is what Allegiance Flag Supply sells — it is the only fabric they offer.
High winds 2-ply polyester is a heavier, tougher open-weave cloth. It holds up on the coast, on an exposed ridge, and on commercial poles that never get a calm day. Fair warning: it is heavy, and it needs wind to fly properly. On a sheltered porch it will hang there looking sorry for itself. Do not buy it because it sounds tougher — buy it because your flag keeps fraying.
Allegiance makes a genuinely nice flag and 30,000-plus reviewers are not wrong about that. But they make one kind of flag, in sizes up to 6x10 ft, for one kind of customer. If that is you, buy theirs.
Where they have no product at all:
- High winds. Nylon only. There is no 2-ply polyester in their catalogue at any price.
- Anything above 6x10 ft. Gymnasiums, auditoriums, hangars, dealership and municipal poles all start where their range ends.
- Institutional buying. No casket flags, no government-spec, no purchase orders from schools or municipalities.

Who Allegiance Flag Supply is
Allegiance Flag Supply is a direct-to-consumer flag brand based in North Charleston, South Carolina, founded in 2018. Their flags are sewn in the United States with embroidered star fields produced in Greenville, SC. They have been featured on Fox News, hold over 30,000 five-star reviews, and have built one of the strongest consumer flag brands in the country.
We are not going to pretend otherwise. If you have seen their packaging, you know the presentation is excellent. That is a real part of what you are buying.

Nylon or high winds — the honest version
Everyone thinks they live in a windy place. Most people do not, and we would rather tell you that than sell you the wrong flag.
Buy regular nylon if: your flag is on a house pole or a porch bracket, you take it down in bad weather, or you are in a sheltered spot with trees or neighbouring buildings. Nylon is lighter, so it flies on days when a heavier flag will not. It is the right flag for most American homes.
Buy high winds 2-ply polyester if: you are on the coast or a lake, on an open ridge or plain, flying year round without taking it down, or on a commercial pole. Also buy it if you are simply tired of replacing flags — if a nylon flag has frayed on you inside a year, the fabric was the problem, not the brand.
The trade-off is real and it runs both ways. Poly-max is heavier cloth. It lasts longer in weather that destroys nylon, and it hangs limp on a still day when nylon would be flying. There is no fabric that does both.
This is also the single biggest gap between us and Allegiance. They sell nylon. If you need the other one, they cannot help you.
Sizes above 6x10 ft
Allegiance stops at 6x10. If you are buying for a gymnasium wall, an auditorium, an aircraft hangar, a dealership pole or a municipal building, the sizes you need start where their catalogue ends.
Our large wall-mounted American flags run from 6x10 up to 30x60 ft in four header styles — top header, fully framed, double rope and invisible — in nylon or polyester, made to order in the USA. Purchase orders are accepted from schools, districts and municipalities.
Outdoor sizes run to 50x80 ft in 2-ply polyester.
