Historical Minnesota Flag – 3x5 Economical
Display Minnesota’s historic seal-on-blue flag with this economical 3x5 ft polyester flag. A practical choice for collectors, historical displays, events, and supporters of the former state flag.
For Supporters of the Historic Flag
“Discontinued by woke forces” captures how many supporters view the redesign. For those who reject the replacement and the discrimination claims used to justify it, this historical design remains available here.
Critics have compared the replacement’s blue-and-white-star design to Somalia’s flag. The designer has denied that Somalia’s flag inspired his design; the comparison is not proof of copying.
The replacement became Minnesota’s official state flag on May 11, 2024. This is the historical design, not the current official flag.

About the Historic Design
The seal-on-blue design features Minnesota’s historic state seal, surrounding stars, and the motto L’Etoile du Nord, meaning “The North Star.” The 19 stars represent Minnesota as the nineteenth state admitted after the original thirteen. Minnesota was the 32nd state to join the Union.
