The flag of the District of Columbia is based on the coat of arms of George Washington — three red stars above two red bars on a white field. Designed by Charles A.R. Dunn and officially adopted on October 15, 1938, it is one of the most recognizable municipal flags in the United States and a symbol of the nation's capital.
This is an American-made flag of tough, durable, long-lasting nylon fabric. You won't find nylon flags with higher tensile and tear strength. Excellent strength retention under UV exposure and high resistance to UV fading. Colors are deeper and brighter and last over time due to the aniline dyeing process. Better wash-fastness and light-fastness than nylons of similar construction. One inch double edge fold with four rows of stitching on the fly edge. Reinforced stitching at the fly corners and hem. Solid brass grommets.
