| The King's Colours or Great Union Flag |
King James created this banner in 1606, to symbolize that both England and Scotland were now under him as a single monarch. It was designed by superimposing the English red cross (with a narrow white border to represent its normal white field) upon the Scottish flag. It became known as the Union Flag, and was in use until 1801 when Ireland combined with Great Britain.
This is an American made flag of our toughest, most durable nylon fabric. It has solid brass grommets. You won't find nylon flags with higher tensile and tear strength, yet they fly very well in the wind. This flag has excellent strength retention under UV exposure, and high resistance to UV fading. The colors are deeper, brighter and last over time, due to the aniline dyeing process.
There is a one inch double edge fold with four rows of stitching on the fly edge. It has reinforced stitching vertically and horizontally at the fly corners.
