Display the Regimental Colors of the 1st Special Forces with pride. Made to order in the USA from heavyweight 200-denier nylon, this flag is built for long-term outdoor display and is available in sizes from 12x18 inches to 20x30 feet.
FLAG HISTORY & SYMBOLISM
While individual units of US Army Special Forces carry their own distinctive insignia, this flag represents the Regimental Colors of 1st Special Forces — the flag of all US Army Special Forces. It was adopted for the First Special Service Force of World War II on 26 February 1943.
- The Knife: Has its own distinctive shape and pattern, issued exclusively to the First Special Service Force
- The Crest: Features the crossed arrows of the collar insignia worn by the First Special Service Force in WWII, changed from gold to silver to harmonize with the shield and distinguish it from the collar insignia
- Background Color: Jungle Green
- Coat of Arms & Distinctive Unit Insignia: Approved on 8 July 1960
CONSTRUCTION & MATERIALS
- Fabric: Heavyweight 200-denier nylon — exceptional UV resistance, tensile strength, and color retention
- Dye Process: Aniline dye saturation for deep, vibrant color with superior wash-fastness and light-fastness
- Finishing: 1-inch double-edge perimeter fold with four rows of lock-stitching on the fly edge; reinforced stitching at top and bottom fly corners
- Hardware: Solid brass grommets (standard sizes) or rope-and-thimble (8x12 ft and larger)
