The Peach State

The current Georgia State Flag, adopted on May 8, 2003, features the Confederate Battle Flag's design as its canton on a field of red, white, and red stripes. In the blue canton, a ring of 13 stars surrounds the Georgia state coat of arms — a golden arch supported by three pillars representing the three branches of government, with the state motto "Wisdom, Justice, Moderation." A banner below reads "Georgia's History" and displays three previous state flags.
