Boat sizing: For a national ensign, a traditional starting point is one inch of flag length (fly) per foot of overall boat length: for example, a 20 × 30-inch flag for a 30-foot boat. Custom logo flags and burgees are sized differently; ask us for help matching the flag to your vessel and mounting location.

Pole sizing: The pole heights above are general recommendations, not structural ratings. An 8-foot-long flag on a 32-foot pole follows the common one-quarter-pole-height guideline. Always follow your pole manufacturer’s flag-size and wind-load limits, allowing for wind exposure, flag weight, double-sided construction and multiple flags.

Printing, Custom Sizes & Finishing

Single- and double-sided printing options are available. Choose a preset size above, or request custom height and width dimensions for your flagpole, boat, building or event. For pennants and other custom shapes, send your desired dimensions or a sketch so we can confirm the design and quote.

Standard flag finishing includes two brass grommets on the hoist side for smaller sizes; larger sizes use Rope and Thimble finishing as outlined in the guide. Pole sleeves and other finishing requests can be discussed when planning your order. Let us know how the flag will be mounted so we can discuss suitable finishing.

Want Extra Grommets?

Standard hoist grommets are already included on grommet-finished flags. For banner, wall, vertical, fence or railing displays, request additional top-and-bottom attachment points. Contact us to discuss your mounting arrangement, especially for high-wind locations.

Quantity Orders

Quantity discounts are available starting at three flags of the same SKU, size and design. Finishing may vary. For school, corporate, municipal or other bulk orders, contact us to review your requirements. A set of individually numbered golf flags includes different designs, so ask us to confirm pricing for the complete set.
